The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. HOLY CRAP!!!, that's awesome! I've had a driver that would sling our M1064A3 like that, (without a combat load) but we all held on for dear life and hooted and hallered like crazy the whole time, (ahhh, good times). But seriously, thats a great demonstration and I think you have something that many Police Dept's need to look at. Where do yu get your M114's from and do you convert/rebuild any other type armor as well?

We picked up the 114s from three places (MO, IL, and GA) and have only worked on these three (so far). Our local SRT team will be utilizing this particular one for dealing with their barricaded customers that they get from time to time, and we are working out the legal part of that right now. I will post more pics when the machine's appearance changes again (decals, additional equipment, etc.) The first real public appearance will be at the Sheriff's fund raising event on the 15th I really appreciate your enthusiasm with this project !

Shocked Noooo, that's completely wrong, don't you know you have to bust through the gate and not drive through the open part? Laughing

Way coool, can I have one to play? Great how you rebuilt that Lingle and gave it a new lease on life, all the best for your business venture- what's next, a T55 or an M551?

Cheers,

Jens O.

Yes, Excellent, Jens! Would convey just that sense of community involvement that most police departments would love to project!

Roy,
I noticed this posted on the M113-M114 Yahoo Group, looks like this guy is working on an M114 book.

"I'm in the process of starting to write a book on the M114 series of
APC / ARV (similar to the one about the V100 as Rick wrote) and I'm
looking for any vintage and modern pictures of them in service and in
private hands (modified, unrestored, restored and all other
conditions). I'll give full credit to the owner or photographer for
their work. I'm also interested stories by crew members.

Thanks and please email any info or pics to me at

m114.book@...

Thanks again,

Jason Green

Hello all! Thought we would share a little upgrade to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office SWAT Lingle

The top pic shows their machine in the '07 memorial day parade with the donated glance armor for the sniper position. Since the M2HB is not considered by many as a tactical weapon Laughing we decided to design and build someting for its place. The bottom views show the shield on our machine. Also I updated the test drive link on the earlier post Cool

Hi WG! Hi Folks!

Super! Thanks for the up dates! It's great to see a few M114s Lingles get a second life doing something that will help save lives.

Thank You!
