Can someone ID this German halftrack?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Speaking of italian halftracks. Do you need an image of the other one - Fiat 727SC?

Cool

Hmm,

I think you know the answer to this one... Wink A man can't ever have enough references, I'd love to see it.

Thanks,

Jens O.

I keep wondering - if this was the Fiat 727C what were the A & B versions?

Cool

Mille grazie commendatore,

much better than the shot I had- now for a word of our sponsor on Fiat terminology Laughing The "C" is the type of vehicle, not the mark, "C" in Fiatese in the given timeframe can be "camione" (truck) or "Coloniale", which usually had reinforced chassis and bigger wheels, but were not necessarily destined for colonial duty. Methinks it's a bit too big for a coloniale, so it's probably a camione. Cool

If it had also an "N", that would be "nafta" for Diesel, there is also "F" for "furgone", which is a truck with a closed body, and a million gazillion other letter combinations which I haven't bothered to decipher yet, but which are probably basically as logical as GMC designations of the same period... Why do I feel this sudden craving for Italian food? Wink

Cheers,

Jens O.
