Army Museum of Comando Militar do Sul.
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

These are some pictures from the Museu do Comando Militar do Sul, located in a historic building in the town of Osório, south of Brasil. Pictures taken by Luis Eduardo from IPMS-Porto Alegre. Hope you enjoy.

Okay, this is an interesting find... A "Super Stuart"? And an M3(?) model at that, rather than an M5...

During the mid seventies, Brasilian Army started to devellop some projects on armored vehicles. One of them was to upgrade the Stuart vehicles with new engines and armament. This is the first vehicle built, the X1A, basically the same chasis with a new engine and a new turret armed with the Defa 90mm french gun.
See my article about the whole family.

The first two images marked greyhound are, of course, a Deerhound.

IIRC Brazil received all the ones that were built.

Nice job with the photographs Jose. The museum looks like an interesting place to visit (I'd like to see the Deerhound!)

Thanks Cloudy.

There is a Deerhound here in Rio at the Central Army workshops, but it is not in running condition. This at the Museum is, as well as the M41C.

Hi Jose! Hi Folks!

Super set of photos, thank you Jose.

Interesting set of shots of a 37mm AT gun. I have an very old Monogram Jeep and 37 kit which I would like to add a bit of detail to the old gun someday.

Loved the M41C shots. I am always looking for more as I hope to try and build a model of one someday.

Hey Doug, I still have your photos from the old AFV site, so no need to repost them here.

Super thanks guys,
Sgt, Scouts Out!

Thanks Roy,

I made my M41C based on the old Tamiya kit, but the new AFV one is a better choice.

Regards,

Jose Valls

Hi Jose J! Hi Folks!

Very nice!

Any chance you might have a photo looking straight down at the top of the turret?

Thanks.
