The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Thank You !! (to the American Military History Museum)

I would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to the American Military History Museum in El Monte, California.

It seems a relative stopped by, and made a 'strange request'. I received one of the most unique gifts for my birthday (9 May).

I'm not sure who gave the 'ok', but it was really appreciated. Thank You!!

Here are a couple of other shots, for those who may be interested.

I love the gun shield. Not too common on Vietnam 'PIGS'.

This is my 'extra' surprize. Not sure if accurate, but USMC #(s) is (are) what I've been trying to document.

BTW 'Weed: I was born at William Beaumont Army Hospital (Ft Bliss). Not sure if any M50's were present (or on display) in 1960, at that location. Mr. Green
