Alas, no. That was a few years before I was even eligible to possess currency. It was a few decade more before I actually managed to do so that wasn't pretty much already spoken for by somebody else.

No wonder the M4A6 was never produced in large numbers. Look at the price tag compared to the other Shermans.

Well remember that the M4A6 entire production cost is distributed over 75 units, not the hundreds or thousands of other models.

IIRC these numbers were based on average contract prices which are only vaguely representative of the actual unit costs of the items. For example, there were five factories involved in making M4s and I have seen documents describing the range of costs for the same tank at various plants. The most reliable numbers are for the M4A4, built at only one plant, but even that is affected by Government funding of the facility, spare parts orders, and Government Furnished Material (GFI or Government Free Issue in the lingo of the times)
