I'm not into overclocking so all my bios settings are the default ones...

I have the same DDR2 ram, 4-4-4-12 but in the bios it's set to auto, cpuz reports 5-5-5-18. Same with the Command per clock, mine's set to auto as well.

Tried it with the correct timings and leaving Command Per Clock at Auto but same thing.
Gonna try setting it to '2 clock' tomorrow.

*sigh*

lol

Shades, this might not apply but figured I'd share it anyways. I've been looking at the 680 version of your Asus and found this in customer reviews.

"I bought some fancy high-performance RAM that runs at 2.2V. The default voltage is 1.8V. In other mobos, this RAM at least gets me to the BIOS when running at 1.8V, on this board all I get are beeps. I had to use a 1.8V rated stick to get into the BIOS, up the voltage, *then* install my fancy RAM. Lucky I had some extra DDR2-800 RAM handy!"

Here's more posts on your board.

Hope you get it figured out.

Hmmm, I did reply to this yesterday fr8y but it doesn't seem to have been recorded.
Thanks for your info.
That was a very helpful link and I shall be trying some of their suggestions this evening.
Interesting info about using the same channel, which may work but I think that guy may not be interested in using it in dual channel.

Mine is working dual channel atm, but I'll have a look at the voltages tonight because it still doesn't feel solid.

Still having some 'issues' which I think I've tracked down at last.
I'll be able to confirm this later but, after a little investigation, it seems that Norton Internet Security 2007 is not compatable with Vista Home Premium 32bit!
Not sure about other Vista versions as I'm only interested in mine but I've found corroborating evidence to support this so I'm having to upgrade later to Norton's new 360 package which is compatable.
Have heard good things about the system resource hogging issue Norton users suffer from in 360 as well so will report on that later as well.

We doing GREAT! Since we moved to paradise..Fort Walton Beach, Florida we stay so busy doing stuff that we hardly have time to get on the puter. Life is a lot better here unlike living in the cold mountains....lol! I have my father's 17 foot Boston Whaler so I've been doing a lot of fishing and I found that saltwater fishing is much better than fresh water fishing...lol! You never know what's gonna come up from the depths. Looks like I will not be seeing too much of u guys until winter Laughing
