Can You match the weapon to a Historic event/person
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Don,

make that the HK MP5 with the SAS, also on the Mogadishu raid by the German GSG 9.

Add the Six-Day as well as the Yom-Kippur war, Malaya, Yemen, Northern Ireland and the Falklands conflict to the FAL's credits.

Sten SMG- WWII

MP40 SMG- WWII, Viet Nam

BAR- WWII, Korea, Viet Nam

Mauser 98k and variants- WWI, WWII, IDF, African Bush wars, Central and South American conflicts

H&K G3 and variants- almost any bush war/conflict in the Southern hemisphere within the past two to three decades

I'll spare you the dubious credits of the Reising SMG... Cool

Cheers,

Jens O.

York carried an Enfield. It is a common assumption that he carried a a Springfield.

If we are just listing weapons associated with conflicts, The 30-40 Krag was the standard weapon of the U.S. in the Spanish American War and into the Phillipine 'experience'

The PPSH was adopted by the Soviets after encountering it (or maybe it's predecesor) in the Russo Finnish war. It was popular with both the Soviets and the Germans in the cold of the Eastern Front, and encountered by the U.S. in teh hands of teh North Koreans and Chinese in Korea.

The Soviets encountered the Finnish m/31 Suomi SMG in the Winter War. It's not that they didn't have any SMG's of their own but they were mostly bad designs, they didn't have them in numbers and doctrine was sketchy on their use. The Finns issued them to entire ski platoons together with 70 round drums, the volume of firepower these fast moving small units could aim at an enemy was unseen and unheard of before the ill-fated invasion. The Soviets changed doctrine and started development of SMG's that resulted in the adoption of the PPSh 41. The 70 round drum of the Suomi was carbon copied an manufactured in the millions.

And in turn the Finns put all PPSh's captured in the Continuation War in frontline use and also copied the PPSh 43 and issued it as the M44.

Podbyrin 9.2mm (44 Desert Eagle)- Arnold (again)....I assume that is from 'Red Heat'.

I pride myself at being a fairly decent movie trivia buff Rolling Eyes . Of course this is partially due to many years of 'Not having a Life'. Shocked Mr. Green
