Post subject: FS9 skies....

....are hazy, really hazy. CFS-2 and CFS-3 skies look great. FS-9 runs smoothe. Is there a secret I don't know about? What have I missed?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Ken

Hi Kafco..welcome to Com-Central......those of us here that frequently fly FS2004 use an addon called BlueSphere which enhances the entire looks of FS2004 by improving alot of the enviroment files. It is available at AVsim www.avsim.com/ there are about 6 files you need to download for it. The overall changes to how FS2004 looks is quite impressive. If you need help installing this or any other FS2004 addon just ask by either posting here or send me a Private Message through the boards and I will gladly walk you throught it...Also, what version of Windows are you running and do you have Directx 9.0c installed and what video card are you using?

S~Hitman,

Op sys is XP Home, video is Radeon 9600 256mb (latest drivers) and DX 9.0c.

I will grab the Avsim files and report back with the results.

Thanks for your help. I haven't used FS9 much but it seems to have a lot of promise.

Regards,
Ken

Your welcome Kafco....If your interested in doing some flying in FS9, we do regular flights every Sunday for our current "Around the World" series of flights. New comers are always welcome both experienced and novice pilots, we have alot of talented FS9 pilots that are always willing to teach others. We have also recently started a Bush Flying section of Com-Central Airlines which is tied to the Sunday flights for doing flights to out of the way locations during the week.

S~Hitman,

Did the Bluesphere install and though there is a general improvement in scenery the sky still looks like a gray haze. No blue, no clouds, nothing but gray haze. Disappointing.

I will continue seeking a solution.

Have never flown FS-9 online. Your around the world and bush flying sounds interesting. If I can solve the sky problem I'll try to join you.

Check my web site to see some of my "real life" airplanes.

Thanks again.

Ken

S! Kafco...install Team Speak if you don't already have it and we can go through the settings in FS9 while on our FS9 server, there are alot of little tweaks for graphics etc that I can walk you through. You will see our CC team speak server stats on the left side of this page under "com-central team speak" the IP is also shown. I am on there all the time if you see me just join in or you can PM me and we can set a time to d this if you want.

S~Hitman,

FS9 skies....are now blue again!

Some minor tweaking in fs9.cfg, TableFog=0 added under Display.Device and then tuning the WX in the prog have solved all my blues (pun intended).

Thanks for the invitation for the tuneup chat and use of CC TS. The CC TS server is a nice touch. I will put the IP in my TS client for future use.

Now I will look into your cross country and bush pilot plans. Sounds like fun.

Thanks again.

Regards,
Ken
