Interesting site...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

...of a soldier's personal history. Nice color pics of bright, shiny new M60A1's, M113's, M114's, M109's, M151A1's (ca.~1964) and if you go back you can see him train on M47's and pic in front of the Patton Museum about 1954, including one with the Ford 3-ton out front and some guys in it).

Hi Doug! Hi Folks!

Very interesting!

A Lingle with a 106mm RR? Now that is different! Never heard of that being tried on a M114.

Check out the M577 in that second link. That is one of the very first M577s build for the Army. Any quesses as to why I make that claim?

Check out the search light mounted on the M60A1. That is the older type found on the M46/47/48 type of tanks.

Thanks for the links Doug!

Why, it still has a weld seam between the hull and the roof extension, Virginia... Mr. Green

We already have a Bingo! Well done Jens, you are already awake this today.

When the Army first started getting the M577, the side plates from a standard APC was used and the extended top was welded onto it.

I keep forgetting many CIA members are on the east side of the big pond!
Anyway, that explains why you are up at the same time I am working. I am on the midnight shift out here in far west Texas. It's been a slow night so I have had time to play.
