Ssssh! its about the CIA.
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi Folks!

Possible cap badge?

Sgt, Scouts Out!

P.S.
For those who don't know what that is from, it WAS a real Armored Force cap badge.

Post correction/update: Thanks Jens for correcting my flub up so the other guys could see what I was trying to do. Also thanks for telling me what I did wrong. I did that post from home and was thinking I was just having another PC problem again. I left it up hoping you guys could see it and it was only me that was getting the red X.

For some reason, the photo is a no-show for me, might be because you used the "share"-link instead of the URL-one, lemme see if that works:

Neato M41 Marvin had there... Cool

For the tanks on the badge, how about one representing the earliest tank (Little willy?) and the latest?

Aw shucks, actually I always had a soft spot for the M41 and its prodigal brother, the M42- the M41 would make a good daily driver... Smile

As a matter of fact I was thinking about it, but the rhomboids are more universally recognizable and had numerous users: GB, US, Imperial Germany, Rooshia- goes well with the international theme, dontcha think?

This is quaint...AFV, doesn't impinge on any other groups as George wanted to avoid, etc.

Shall we say 700 yards if loaded with Cartridge, Caliber .50, Ball, Armor Piercing, M2 or 1,000 if I can get my hands on that newfangled Saboted Light Armor Penetrator (SLAP), M903? Twisted Evil

Curmudgeons don't do "newfangled", you're disqualifying yourself from membership with posts like that! Laughing

Hey, I'm still using the time-honoured Ma Deuce, which is older than any of us... Now if I could get AP rounds for my Gatling gun, I'd use that, of course. Wink

Here you go Jens, hope you like it

I tweaked your design a little and replaced the fieldpiece with croosed cannon barrels to make the images on the triangle consistent. I didn't care for the looks of the latin in the staggered format so I changed it slighty, hope you don't mind.

Here is the "murican" version for Doug and all of us on this side of the pond

the cyberspace gremlins ate the international one ( only difference was armor was spelled armour) I'll redo it tomorrow and post it. It's 2:30 AM here and I'm going to bed now Shocked
