Attn: Bob Steinbrunn....
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

It may be time for you to check out the exciting world of flight simulation (if you haven't already)

Wink
(scroll down)

That one's on the way, but it's not like we don't already have some nice one's already available now (like an OH-6A with flight modeling advised by Don Callison from D/3/5th Cav and some other nice offerings...like my own Phu Bai...right here at Com-Central...hint, hint)

That one above looks to be incredible, though, currently in development.

Very impressive modeling, JG, thanks. The UH-1C looks quite real and I can only imagine the computer skills necessary to create it.

The General Electric GAU-2B/A mini-gun might benefit from being festooned with larger loops of ammo feed chutes and clips, I might suggest exchanging the solid rocket pod for the later cluster type with individual tubes, and painting the particle separator over the engine inlet a nice putrid shade of zinc chromate might complete the picture. Wait, add about a week's worth of carbon soot and engine oil film on the tailboom downstream of the exhaust stack, and for the pièce de résistance howze about a dozen empty C-rat cans rolling around inside the aft cabin... Laughing

Well, of course they haven't done the color, that's just the poly's he'd got modeled...and you get to fly a much more sophisticated bird now in the Real Worldâ„¢, but if you get Jean Baptiste's SEA Mesh for FS2004, and the right free virtual aircraft, you can fly some some places accurate to within meters of recognition of, ummm....familiar territory. I know I do. Wink

...and nobody shoots at you!

(Me, I want two arty tubes under the troop seats with 120' sections of gold line to rappel down, and no guns except a couple of M60's, but that's not as exciting to the virtual community...)

I realize the image is not finished yet, JG, and my lighthearted comments were not meant to take away from the skill and understanding necessary to produce such a skin. I'm amazed by how much it looks like a Charley-model and the amount of detail included, and I can't wait to see it done. Smile
