what a lazy farmer... you would have thought they would have hit it with a combine earlier than this...

I don't think they grow wheat in the Watsonville area of California. I think the main crop in that area is onions.

Still is it odd that no one noticed a new hole in the ground unless back then the area was very soft and was not being farmed at that time.
