M60A3 Tank in Johnstown, PA????????
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

It is on my list of ones to make a side trip Rolling Eyes to when heading to Pittsburgh one of these days. There are several on the I99 corrider (similar to the cluster in Jersey i guess) that I want to check out. Maybe this fall I'll talk my wife into an 'Autumn leaves' trip one weekend Cool

Oops, I don't see it either. I probably was thinking about The one at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home (Which looks like a fairly sizeable complex)

Here is the core of my I-76/I-99 M60 cluster

M60A1/A3 Meyersdale PA 15552 US219 ~10M S I76 Somerset Exit
M60A1/A3 Stoystown PA 15563 US30 ~7 M N I76 Somerset Exit
M60A1/A3 Saltsburg PA 15681 7M east of I76 at Monroeville (East of pittsburgh)
M60A1/A3 Carrolltown PA 15722 US219 40 M N I76 Somerset Exit, 15 M W Altoona
M60A3 Central City PA 15926 PA160 10M NE I76 Somerset Exit
M60A1/A3 Jerome PA 15937 US219 20 M N I76 Somerset Exit
M60A3 Portage PA 15946 Caldwell Ave ~4M east of US219
M60A2 East Brady PA 16028 ~15 M NE of Butler on St Rt 68
M60A3 Hollidaysburg PA 16648 Off I99 5 M S Altoona

Johnstown zip-codes are 15901-15915 (I've found zips are a good way to cluster vehicles in an area together when I don't know which towns are near each other
Unfortunately we don't have detailed photo recon coverage of that part of PA to go looking for individual vehicles Rolling Eyes

Hi AJ2, Bob,
Never heard of an M60 at Johnston, but it doesn't mean it's not there.

Bob,
I am most interested in pictures from the East Brady M60A2, and of course the serial number. If I was a betting man I would say the number would be between 4426 and 4725.

hey AJ2 - Was it you a few months back that was going to get a list of tanks that the army had loaned out as monuments and such? Did anything come of that?

The GPSers found one at the armory in Johnstown. It maps out to be near the corner of Walter Ave and Ness Ave, east of town. Walter runs between PA 756 and PA 56.
