USAF M1116 Humvee
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Pretty nice vehicle. New, not a rebuild.

I just wonder what the 'tow shackle' looking things are on the door handles.

I think they are a retrofit that allows another vehicle to pry open a door on a mangled vehicle

Hi Folks!

One of the problems with the heavier doors is when a vehicle gets hit, a trooper can not get the door open from either side. The tow hooks are being added so an injury crewman can be removed through that door.
