1st AD Tanks Arrive At Fort Bliss, Texas!
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Well actually what I noticed first was the picture saying an Abrams belonged to an infantry battalion -which didnt seem to make sense (except in a combat task-organized kind of way), until I realized that they were probably a combined arms battalion... I then noticed it was a new unit as well...

3/36 Inf was part of 3AD, stationed at Ayers Kaserne ( THE ROCK).

In Dec 86 2/36 Inf & 3/36 Inf were redesignated 3/5 CAV & 5/5 CAV. At the same time 2/5 CAV (Armor / COHORT) became 4/32 AR.

Hello Fellow CIA Agents and other Folks!

The first photo comes from the base newspaper, The Monitor, Sept 20, 2007 edition, article by Melissa House.
The second two photos comes from the El Paso Times, Wednesday 19, 2007 edition, article by Chris Roberts, photos by Rudy Gutierrez.

One thing I have notice about these new (more likly rebuilds) tanks is they have the extended bustle rack that we saw on many of the OIF vehicles.

Has that item become standard equipment for the Abrams?

The base newspaper is the one that called the Abrams M1A2 SEP V2s.

Dona ana Range 40.... That is one hell of a range.

I shot it in 1994, as part of a 'Op Rolling Sands' deployment.

Its the toughest gunnery range that I've ever fired on.

WOW....
