Post subject: One of the hardships of working near Miramar's runways...

...is that just before the airshow (this weekend) we suffer the practice sessions just outside and have to endure all sorts of exotic aircraft just overhead. Its a hardship, but we carry on, in between frequent trips outside to see whats rattling the windows apart from the usual FA-18 and CH-46 traffic we get everyday.

For example, did you know that you can easily hear a P-51's Merlin scream over the roar of the accompanying F-15 and F-16 flying formation off either wing about 300' directly overhead? Surprizingly, you can, no problem.

I really resent the distraction, too, being drawn away from my office (which even has windows!) outside like this, when I really should be working. DARNIT! Twisted Evil

It's this kind of selfless dedication to the work ethic that really brings out the best in people and inspires others. Your level of diligence to carry on in spite of your plight is exactly the kind of thing that should get more attention in today's press as opposed to news stories about drunken actresses having to spend a day in jail.

Surely someone at your office has a digital camera handy so that some pictures or short MPG movies, preferably with sound, can be posted so as to suitably portray your situation to the masses?

Forgive me as I´m not able to write so eloquently in your lenguage,
to concur with previous speaker that hard evidence is needed to be produced to convince the masses of your hardships suffered during the time you have rented yourself out for other tasks.

Well, first of all, Ascout was still recovering from his "Leda and the Swine" enactmment ( www.com-central.net/in...amp;t=7954 ) and had not the presence of mind to bring any such recording devices to work....

Moreover...were I to post such distracting and frivolous divertissment, I would be no more than those loathsome parasites of the sensationalistic journalism ilk who tempt us with titillating and provocative images that appeal to the atavistic instincts and prurient interests of the masses and I just know you wouldn't want that.

No...I think it best if we all just keep our snouts to the grindstone and focus on our same ol' deadend jobs and live out our pointless, humdrum lives in the suburbs and get the lawn weeded and mowed this weekend and fix that toilet tank like your wife asked you to three weeks ago....

I knew there was a reason I liked bar-b-qued pork.

Nose to the grindstone...don't you know that hurts, just picture that...with that snout?

Well....they're NOT just practicin'....today is "Military Families" display day...it's the real show, but only for serving military, the open shows are for Sat-Sun. I thought this was kind of elaborate for just practice, which we had during the week as well.... Mr. Green

My good friend Ascout, fully realizing your temptation to look outside to see all these magnificent aircraft whizzing past your window and thus distracting you from the undoubtedly important work you perform in the interest of your employer - consider learning in the speediest possible way to read Braille............................ Cool
