One more for the AFV Register???
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Got this M47 on there?

Caption:
Standing guard: although a variety of military equipment was exposed to the ravages of the atom in Frenchman Lake, this M-47 tank is a relative newcomer to the area. This M-47 tank was used as a target for testing armor-piercing artillery rounds (depleted-uranium tipped) in Area 5.

Hi Dontos! Hi Folks!

Looks like this vehicle had a bulldozer blade mounted on it at one time. Look at the headlights.

Where is this guard standing at?

Probably full of 30mm DU round dust, doesn't look like they hit it. A lot of 47's ended up that way out West.

Hi Folks!

A few years back, a train load of M47s (about 100 of them) came thur El Paso/Ft. Bliss, Texas. I don't know for sure, but my guess was they were headed for White Sand Missile Range up in New Mexico for use as hard targets.

They looked like they had Italian national markings on them.
