Self-Propelled Artillery: A Question
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Self-Propelled Artillery: A Question

Hey all

What SP (perhaps 75mm) Artillery piece looks like the M7 'Priest' but is based on the M24 Chaffee chassis???

I saw one today (an unknown recent arrival here???). Unfortunately I forgot my camera to document Shocked . I guess I need to make more visits to post more often.

Inquiring minds want to know,

Gotta find out where this appeared from. Its a former static vehicle with the top covered over with sheet metal. Its in good condition but obviously a static display.

The 'new' vehicle ( M37 SPA ) came from a (currently unknown location) static display. It supposedly was at a site which was closed (disbanded Natl Gd unit ??) and it was sent here.

Photos & and SNs pending access on Monday (??)

Note: The top is completely covered (in cased) with large sections of sheet metal. 'Interior' condition is unknown.

Theres been some shifting around of the vehicles as static display pads are being removed due to New facility construction.

I'm trying to keep it all straight,.... but ....." I am merely a mortal...." Rolling Eyes
