Hetzer in Heeresgeschichtlichem ( Military) Museum in Vienna
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi to all
Once a year at independence day the Museum exhibits their nearly complete restored Hetzer.
According from Museum informations this Hetzer came from Switzerland, but has many original parts form German production in WW2. They found original colour spots from the camouflage colours on UV protected places saved them with help from professionals and mixed the colours according to their examples.
One missing item is the remote controlled MG. Does someone know if there are detailed drawings from this parts exist?
Regards from Wien ( Vienna)
Robert

Hi Robert! Hi Folks!

The outside looks like a factory new vehicle! Hope the inside received the same level of TLC.

Sgt, Scouts Out!

To robertkru: a bit OT question - what happened with the hull of Panther which was resting rusty behind the main building of Arsenal?
TIA for your answer.

The thing is, if it's a G13 hull then it's Swiss camouflage not German.

The staff informed a collegue, that they found many parts which were produced before the end of WW2 and have originial colour from war production. The colours were tested from some kind of Institut for trueness. I guess the can differ the paint.
About Panther: Sorry I had no time to visit Museum complete. I guess it is still rusting there.
The Museum has problem to store tanks properly. I guess they are fighting with restrictions from monument protection from the historic building.
The whole complex where the Museum is located ( Arsenal) was one of the biggest repairing area for tanks in WW2.

The partial Panther hull is no longer in Vienna. There has been some confusion regarding to its current whereabouts but most info seem to point to it being stored at the Panzermuseum Munster, Germany.

See PO's pdf:
