Bovinton Finds German WW2 IR equipment
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

And they can't translate "Vor Sonne Schutzen" in context???

You don't have to no much about German WWII IR-equipment (or any early IR-equipment, Gen.0, for that matter) to know that the image intensifier/converter tube had to be protecteted against direct sunlight or it would "burn" out.

Welcome to the wonderful world of generating visits to a site - I knew that, you knew that, and Bovington probably knows it as well. If they had posted it people would have probably visited once to read it and got the answer. By not putting the answer and asking the question a lot of people will go back to the site later to see if there is an answer - does wonders for a sites visitor count.
