Some pics from the AUSA convention back in October...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Are the Abrams TUSK side skirts made from reactive armor?

Hopefully the air horns won't accidentally blow in an ambush position!

I'm guessing that they provide a stand-off space to render the RPG's ineffective.

I wonder how long it would take for someone to attach big red bulbs to the rear of them in the field, just for grins.

or for units at Bliss and Hood 'the Eyes of Texas are Upon You'

Hi Neil! Hi Folks!

Super set of photos! Any more?

Interesting way the bumper markings are placed on that MULE.

Looking at the vehicle, the company level, A-16, is on the left side or what is normally the higher unit side. While the higher unit marking is on the right side, 1st Armored Division, 3rd Battalion, 36st Infantry Regiment, where the company marking normally is.

Another interesting thing about that marking is the local base newspaper has never reported the FCS brigade receiving any MULES for test yet.

I have wondered for a long time if that M1117 would not make a better vehicle for scouts that a Hummer would.

Speaking of horns on that Stryker Howizter vehicle, I have noticed a number of Iraqi Stryker's that have been fitted with horns. If you are going to drive in rush hour traffic, it's only right that the driver should have a horn they can sound off with.

Made by contractors that don't know how to display bumper numbers! Evil or Very Mad

I am also pretty sure it reads "X-16" on the left side... Cool

Say what? Well it looks like it was done by someone who makes model tanks because it is will weathered and muddy. I was thinking it had been put through some field testing!

Neil, any chance you have a different angle view of the front. I'm sure that's an "A" on the left side and not an "X" as Jens thinks it is.
