Where were these pictures taken, and which genius came up with the idea for this parade entry?

I am so old I remember when the first 'unbreakable' polyethylene toy soldiers came out. What a drag -- not at all like the wonderful Britains' lead soldiers I used to get for being good at the Dentist's. I remember hating their ugly, flexible, shiny, unpainted surfaces, at first, but then discovered that when lit with a forbidden Vesta match they made really eerie whooshing sounds and flaming effects when allowed to drip over Dinky Toys cars and lorries!
