way off topic, but someone might like em....
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

These kind of tie in with your photos. I took these while landing at Corregidor in 1994 for the '50th anniversery of the Philippines' celebrations. Not sure what batteries these are, so I'll leave that to those of you who are more knowledgable about these emplacements.

And here's a couple of Pointe du Hoc for those of you who are interested. These were taken in 04 June 1995 for the '50th Anniversery of D-Day' celebrations.

After a little research, I believe those are the 12 inch disappearing carriage guns from Battery Wheeler in my second pic. And yes they are coastal artillery. I still do not know what batteries those are in the first, third, and fourth pics.

Don, that gun came from Fort Wint, Grande Island, Subic Bay, the Philippines it came from Battery Warwick. It was brought here in the 1960's I believe, I can get a better date if anyone cares. Tomorrow I will brake out the pics and maybe ID the photos of the batteries here.

Just Curious since it looks a lot alike the Ft Casey Washington pop up battery.

Heres a little reference History:

COASTAL DEFENSE STUDY GROUP INC

Photo on page above link, is of same gun I am standing on.

In 1858, the U.S. government purchased ten acres of land costing $400 for the construction of Admiralty Head Lighthouse. In 1890, the army took over the premises. It named its garrison "Fort Casey" in honor of Brigadier General Thomas Lincoln Casey, the last U.S. Army chief of engineers. At that time, Fort Casey, in union with Fort Worden and Fort Flagler, was said to comprise a "triangle of fire" guarding the entrance to Puget Sound.

When the fort was constructed, the old lighthouse had to be moved. A new lighthouse was built on the present site in 1901. Today the Admiralty Head Lighthouse at Fort Casey serves as a historic landmark and interpretive center. The park was incorporated into Ebey's Landing National Historic Reserve in 1980.

Its also the location where the movie 'Officer & a Gentleman' was filmed.
