Video: C-5B Airdrops Sheridans
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Yep....if you're so misguided as to read the description, you'll learn that Headquarters, Dept. of the Army is staffed by "egomaniacal, lying incompetant racketeers."

Hi Folks!

Nice video!

Anyone notice how that one Sheridan bounced when it landed?

Anyone see a problem with a hard landing like that?

During operation Just Cause, the Air Force dropped four Sheridan's like that. When the crew arrived at one of them, they found the vehicle was not safe to operate. They blow it in place and moved out without it. One platoon, lost 25% of it's firepower just trying to land.

Something that the loadmaster's of the 18th Airborne Corps learned early on after the 4th (Lt)(Abn)68th Armor joined the 82nd AB Div in 1969, was don't drop Sheridans loaded with main gun ammo.

The combustible propellant casings tended to break lose for the projectiles, spilling high explosive pellets all over the crew compartment.

Landing on an airstrip it the best way to bring in a combat loaded Sheridan.
