Hi all,
I know this is a shameless plug from yours trully, BUT, this is going to go gold shortly and I think you fella's should have a look at it, cause it's going to turn the fsX world upside Down

So with no further ado check this out !

Looks amazing.....what a time we live in when this kind of thing is available.

Although to be hinest, for as nice as that website is, and the pix, it wasn't actually easy to find out exactly what that product is in a nutshell, and does. Maybe some kind of summary would be helpful...it's coverage for South Australia only, right? I looked in the "About" section and certainly saw some very respectable names...even one of a particular wing-flapping bat! And Holger Sandmann's freeware Vancouver+ scenery for FSX is fantastic.

Along the same token I've been kind of kicking around getting GEX Enhanced which is a redone texture set for the USA, the pictures look quite tempting.

As the name suggest Full Terrain eXpirience, it's all redone terrain textures, buildings, Autogen etc etc etc, it will give fsX really a completely different look, I wish I could show more but I'm bound to a NDA

There are tons of preview screenshots in the forum, allready way better as on the official page.

it will be several parts, South Australia is the first and then the other parts will follow, then the rest of the world is a playing field, but it for sure will turn some heads around in the FS world

From the look of the textures they're offering, it can't be much of a leap for other terrains. You have to congratulate everyone who's been working on that project, it's simply stunning. Wink

OK the comparo shots at 1000 feet altitiude are really enticing.

Too bad about that NDA Fled because I'd really like to ask about potential impact on frame rates, etc!

Looking very good though and highly anticipating the release!

Haven't watched the video yet but I took your suggestion and lurked through the forums at the site and particularly the screenshot forum.....well migod who's jaw wouldn't drop to the floor on seeing some that....wow...amazing.....!!!!!!!!!

you don't mind if I have a little chuckle here my friend ............ I'm looking at that for months now and testing and trying to break it and the worst part was that I had to keep my trap shut about this to all

as said release is set for the 5th of March and I tell ya those servers will be smoooooking lol

expected file size will be around the 700 Mb mark it will be available as Download but also there will be a service that sends the CD for customers on limited bandwith or dailup connections

I'm guilty as charged ........ BUT, I couldn't play around with others online as the risc that screenies came out was just to big, I have also installed the Acceleration pack, good fun, but I mostly have spend my time testing for FTX and it ain't finished, after this other regions need attention to see if we can brake 'm .. Laughing

Another feature that will be added with FTX is that you can select wich type of lights and the size of 'm .... Cool

Also the roads are 1 on 1 with the real ones and the traffic runs all over the place, so if you get a car that lets you drive around you could select a route using your road map ....... Laughing

And I could go on, but that would be letting the Cat out of the bag, there is so much in there to discover and I must say at a very reasonable price if I look at other addons offered out there.

What I can say is that FTX will turn the FS world on it's head and a lot of addon producers will have to scratch thier heads and rethink things before tossing something on the market for a sometimes very steep price.

Man I hear ya. For the first time in a long history I've now tried the payware route but only for very select - and AFFORDABLE - things, that benefit the whole sim - like FEX and UTX USA & Canada, and that other landclass upgrade form Cloud 9 early on. Which is why the interest in GEX as well as this new FTX. If they weren't priced reasonably (read: no more than half the price of the sim itself) there's no way I woudla looked twice at any of 'em.

That post with the guy driving around on the realistic streets with the light posts looks GREAT especially with Light Bloom turned on, which is something I'm really addicted to now....FYI I finished doing our taxes early and earmarked a small slice of our refund to go towards FTX, buddy!
