Sorry Rixster...LOL

No, what you have will get you in the air, any problems we can sort out on Teamspeak.

If you run a router then you may have to port forward 21000 to your machine ONLY if you can't connect. (Just to give you time to work out port forwarding Mr. Green )

Jel, I need a chat about FDB compliant maps...In other words, y'all gotta make some. Laughing
I can provide you with the relevant details.

Don't know yet where we are going to play.

HL or IP or server, we'll sort that out later.

If anyone wants to test their 1946 set up, there is a server running at 81.104.156.17:21000
This is just for testing purposes, the map is crap and the server could be up and down at times if you see us on TS otherwise I'll leave it up.

Please note your latency times as this may influence where we play.

Mr. Green

I have a heads-up for my fellow Sau's in our private forum and hopefully some swine will be giving their input later as they're availale, but suffice to say the idea of a Com-Central server we can access and hose around on from HL is a CAPITOL idea in my opinion if it's not asking too much (and high time we had one dontchya think).

I second that motion.

I think we all here get on quite well and would have tank loads of giggles getting to know each other from a new perspective(involves cross hairs of course).

I would be intrested in "$contributing$ Wink " to something like that as well, as long as there was good participation.

Bushy has an IL2 server running I believe with map rotations.
Mine at the moment just has the single dogfight map we are using for testing.

Don't know what a UK server is like for you guys across the pond.

Fully agreed Chuck!

Back in the day (not that it was too terribly long ago, in the long and complex history of these things)...squad interaction here was more high-profile and regimented, as some of us who witnessed the CFS3 WEC rules negotiations with the likes of the FOE squad, IMS (Combat mostly), RM, etc etc piping in. While there remain some excellent and notable squads here (again, IMS, RM, EURO, Shadow, HF etc. and if I've left anyone out it's not personal I'm just trying to not write a book).....the interaction here is much more casual and on common ground. I'd almost say it's like we're in one big happy squad but I don't want anyone getting misty-eyed or think I've gone mushy, and I sure don't want a group hug from any of ya moogly bastid's.....just agreeing its a Helluva good thing to take advantage of.

And Kit, the other night I gotta say there was NO noticeable lag while I was flying on Jel's server, so the big lake between us didn't seem to be a factor. Of course, I'm on the closer side of the continent than our Left Coast U.S. and Canadian members.

Slowy, the exe name is "il2fb.exe" for IL2 1946.

And the game selection to make is "Forgotten Battles" instead of Pacific Fighters, if you're using the IL2 1946 package.

I didn't have to point it anywhere that way, but then again my IL2 1946 is installed at the default location.....and pressing shift-click in HyperLobby while logged out isn't doing anything for me so I can't check....

You can right-click on your IL2 porgram icon and hit "Properties" and then copy the location and name (highlight and press CTRL-C or right-click and 'copy'), then paste (CTRL-V or right-click and 'paste') the location and name into HL's entry thingy....

I don't think I pointed mine to the IL2 1946 folder. I pointed mine to the original IL2 folder slow, try that and see if it works.

There's something amiss here.

My 1946 folder doesn't contain a file il2.exe only the il2fb.exe. There are two occurrences of the il2fb.exe file, one in the 'org' folder and the other in the root folder of 1946.

I don't have a file called il2.exe, nor do I have the other files listed in Slow's pic... which I presume are error logs. (hs_err_pidxxx.log)

I've a mind that this install is the original IL2 game ????

I checked my icon target and it's the same as Stoopy's. I'll have another look in my folder when I get home from work.

I think slow may have put that in there manually based on what I told him. I thought it was il2.exe but upon further examination of my setup (which I should have done before offering advice), mine is the same as stoopy's, my bad, sorry Slow. It should read exactly like what stoopy is showing you. My apologies sir.

Unfortunately Thud was getting lag the other night. Sad

We all suffered a few stutters but I think that was due to the search for ET. I should have turned off the Seti program.
