Open day NLD army at Oirschot 1
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

This one is from the Overloon museum

This one was from a private collector

No numbers found on the towing lugs but this number was on the back on the left side of the tank.

Also private collection

M113 engineer variant

YPR-765PRCO

This one in colours of an army air defence unit but it was also in use for airfield defence during the seventies.

I took the pictures at the rehearsal, so that there no people running around the vehicles.

Today it is for family and schools so I go with my children and nephews but it is even wetter.....thunderstorms and lots of rain.

I think the little ones don't care as long as they can see tanks, rifles and helicopters Mr. Green

regards

There should be a roofless Humber Scout Car Mk.I (II) sporting name TAMARA I hope. Pics of this (restored) vehicle used to be on (dead)tanxheaven website.
I am very interested in story of TAMARA - is roof removed as a postwar mod? Was TAMARA produced as roofless? According to my info collected before marking of TAMARA (shield with keys crossed, name, number etc.) depict a vehicle used by Dutch forces during Politionele Acties (it could happen spelling is wrong) against local insurgents in former Dutch East India...
Any original pics of TAMARA or Humber Scout Cars used by Dutch during above mentioned operations?
Have lots and lots of pics but original pic of TAMARA is missing...
The only Dutch HSC I have is here (see the crossed keys marking on the nose).

Hello Palic,
I didn't see it at the open day here in Oirschot. I know they have such a vehicle in the cavalry museum in Amersfoort.

I tried to google it wit some Dutch words but it is indeed not much what you can find.

I copied some sites and e-mail adresses here, maybe they know more about his subject.
The first is a site of the Netherlands Institute of Military History. They are very helpfull to me with some questions regarding Leopards.

www.nimh.nl/nl/

Since the vehicles are (also) used by infantry maybe the following museums know more about the use of this verhicle.
The first e-mail is from the Infantrymuseum, located in the Harskamp (NLD) and the second one is from the Regiment Stoottroepen (shocktroops) which served with units in Indie during the the Politionele acties

infanteriemuseum @ planet.nl

mailto:[email protected]

Hope this helps

Regards

Palic,

have you tried Warwheels.net and Overvalwagen yet? Each of these fine websites also features a forum that a bunch of knowledgeable people frequent.

Well, L.D., thanks for pointing me to possible new source of data.
Many thanks Jens, Warwheels... and and Overwalvagen... have been already in my large bookmarks list...
My Humber files contain 50 MB of pics and other data. Mr. Green
"TAMARA" was an exhibit of Cavaleriemuseum located in Oirschot barracks, she is a runner and that is a good advantage - they can move her without any special problems from museum to another one...

Old topic but a small update. The M4A1 from the private collector is ''based'' in Overasselt, Gelderland province near Nijmegen.
