The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Golra, Pakistan

An article in Military Machines International Dated July 2008 matches up with some unverified information I had before about the Central Mechanical Transport & Vehicle Storage Depot.

Large numbers of M47, M47M, M48A5, Type 59II, M19, M24, M4E4 (yes SHERMANS approx 40 apparently), Priests, & Sextons.

Smaller numbers of M32B1, M32B2, M32B3, M74, MT-LB, M4 & M5 tractors, Ferrets, Type 58 (Chinese copy of T34-85) and lastly... wait for it... LVT-3 (though there are rumours of some LVT-1 being there as well).

Apparently there are more at a sub-depot but information is sparse and unconfirmed

Sounds Like pre-2003 Iraq,

They never got rid of anything, now all those M47M's, M48's, M60's, Chieftains, and everything else are pretty much gone to scrappers or to Jordan.

Just been updated - only 34 M4E4 left there apparently. Some have been relocated as monuments.
