I found the Bf110g for CFS2 on the Ground Crew page:

As a test i took the content of the CFS2 dp file and exchanged it in the JO plane dp files and all the crashes of WinXp stopped.

So, go through the file structure of the CFS2 dp file and compare it with what you got and you should be able to solve things.

The Ground Crew plane is a pretty nice looking one b.t.w. Laughing

will that work with a CFS1 plane? Strike that... I tried it out last night and all is well...How do I get the tailgunner to work? I have copied the lnes oof code froma JU88 that has an operational tailgunner and it will nt work. as a matter of fact the MG doesnt even fire. I can see the number of rounds available, but they do not fire when I pull the trigger.

The Ground Crew plane will probably not work as is in CFS1, due to the different format, but just copying either of the Ground Crew dp file content to the JO dp files content, overwriting the original code, stops the CFS1 crashes of WinXP here at my PC.

The Ground Crew plane only got one tail gunner and all guns and cannons works here when i use either the gun or cannon trigger or use the space bar to fire all guns (also the tail gunner which however is offset a little to the aft when used for the JO model):



If you can't get the guns to fire, then you should look into your key settings of CFS1 or maybe try to reset key settings. You can also try space bar and see if not all guns and cannons fire.

Essential in this is that now you have a dp file that is not causing crashes and you can then start to compare it with what you got in order to possibly track where your dp file has errors or put another way, it seems quite certain that the problems you have are caused by the structure of the present JO dp file and that it should be possible to fix it.

rgr I copied over only the .dp. I have the plane no longer crashing.. using dped I managed to move the weapons into their proper place. I would like to show you, tell me how you postedthe screen dump on the site and I ll show you mre images of my so called progress.
What is frustrating is that I can fire the JU88a4 tailgunner and aim it and knock planes out of the sky, but when I edit the dp for the Bf110 to reflectt he entries from the JU88 nothing happens. When I first simply copied the dp form the CFS2 model over I noticed that there were a mob of guns firingg when I pulled trigger one. I redid that part and now I can only get the cannons to fire. Do the guns have to be tied to a certain box or part or???
getting real thirsty here but I wont drink till I get this firing the way I want.

If you can aim with the tail gunner, then you probably got the TG2 addon installed and that could be the reason why you experience the plane working differently from what i do.

Try make a second clean instalation of CFS1 in order to rule out any addons being the cause of trouble.

The screenshot i posted above was uploaded to the Com-Central Photo Gallery so you should be able to do just the same.

For a moment i thought i had a clew on what was wrong as it seems like all the CFS1 planes do not have box maps in the [STRINGS] section, but the JO plane got box maps listed there. I then tried to rename the boxes in the JO plane so that it would list like (which is the way the Ground Crew [BOXES] are listed:

[BOXES]
box.0=%box_name.0%,-0.51,-0.29,1.05,0.51,1.01,4.46

(where the box name is then defined in the [STRINGS] section

in stead of as it is right now:

[BOXES]
box.0=nose,-0.51,-0.29,1.05,0.51,1.01,4.46

However that difference was not what sorted it as WinXP still crashes.

It could be that your plane actually work after you moved the guns and cannons into the right place, but you still have trouble on guns not fireing due to e.g. TG2 addon.

I would try to use the Ground Crew dp file as basis, use Dpedit, set for CFS1 in the ini file, then move guns into proper positions, move hit boxes into proper positions and then see if not it will work on a fresh CFS1 installation.

Once you got that working, you could compare with your original JO dp file and try to adjust it back to the JO configuration, however keeping the structure from the Ground Crew dp file.

We did it mate...
got it rnning and I even learned to tweak the air file a little so that the bird now flies to real seed as listed on performance indexes on the net. I have added the cannons as defined by the maker of dped. Mk151s etc...
They just dont seem to be accurate enough... before everyone tells me to go to the practice range I need to point out the I set up 9 C-47s in quick combat and followed them closely...ya figure one short blast should be enough to explode them transports...but nooooooooooooo, had to waste almost 3/5ths of the ammo on one c47. Is there such a thing as gun convergence in cfs1?
Here are the stats for the cannons I used.
Ma0 151/20 20mm Cannon : Incendiary or High Explosive,1,-99,2,0.11,534,2,0.05,300,5,40,1d1*89,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,3.5,Germany
Rheinmetall-Borsig MK 108 30mm Cannon (1943),1,-99,2,0.1,505,2,0.05,300,5,40,1d1*73,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,11.64,Germany


Thisis what dped has for ists weapons.dat. Are those values too high for cfs1?

Glad that you got it working. Was it the TG2 messing it up?

There is an updated arms list available and maybe the figures are more accurate in the updated list.

Just as example the 30mm MK108 (1943) is listed with these figures in the updated list:

30mm MK 108 (1943) HE(M)-I(M),1,-99,2,0.1,505,2,0.05,300,5,50,1d1*101,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,11.64,Germany

As for convergence, you have full controll of that in the dp file.

C-47 are huge planes. If i had to down them i would focus aim on the tail part and then try to breake some of it off but that's just an idea.

man I really owe you a Bier.
I have gotten to the bottom of this .dp and .air mess. LOL Now only to find that I am getting carried away with details on getting the bird to perform as close to specs as I can. I have researched the engine displacement and top speed and all of the details. I am lost in the search for these details...such as propeller diameter. Believe or not but I found a Bf110 propeller blade for sale on the web. For only 600 Euro you too can own one.

Interesting is that according to the seller this prop is also used on the Bf109 fw190.
Also for sale is a panel from an Fw 190a8.


There was a hardware issue ond a sftware issue on hand. Hardware was a NostromoN52 gamepad causeing a crash. The software issue was .dp issues with respect to an FS98 air file.
I am learning alot about the air file contents but not enough to make it function as I think the Bf110 actually did.
Well thats the updaefor nw... perhaps yoou would like a copy of what I have done, if so lemme know

Would be great to try the plane. If you can give a download url then i'll give it a try.

If i had to make an estimate on the propeller diamter and couldn't find the accurate figure referred anywhere, then i would look into a blueprint like e.g:

Wing span should be 16.25 m, so meassuring the propeller diameter on the blue print and then calculate it based on the wing span which you know, should give a figure that is close to specifications.

If you wish to have the accurate figure, then you could also try to ask on the forum here:

It could be that the Bf110 has been made as a 1% plane for CFS2 and CFS3 in which case you should be able to get more detailed specifications from there. You could ask on the 1% forum as well:

Ehhh, couldn't resist to check CFS3 1% Bf110. It exists and give this propeller diameter, but what the unit is i can't figure out:

propeller_diameter = 9.833
propeller_blades = 3

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!!!!
I have got one HOTEL SIERRA Bf110c and BF110G4 combo. Repaint by me and most of the DP and airfile by yours truly as well. Tis bird has teeth. Speed is right at what all of the website info has provided. People say that CFS1 is dead, but where else can you add scenery and build a legit plane that others can add/use with ease?
If anyone wants to try out my plane drop me a line. I will be more than happy ( like a proud pappa) to share it.
