Post subject: A good time

was had by all at the monthly meeting of the C.A.F. Desert Squadron. I had the distinct honor of being the guest speaker for the event. My topic............Flight Simulators. We were able to obtain a lap top which I loaded FS9 onto and some planes of interest, and we hooked it up to the big screen TV. The resolution wasn't very good but the cockpit of the B-17 was lifelike big! I also took my Desktop out to our meetiing room so I could show what fantastic graphics, and capabilities
are avaliable. Everyone was very impressed Expecially the WW2 pilots. Everytime I showed them a different aircraft (P-51, P-40 , B-17, C-47, etc) there were stories galore. We started the program about 8Pm and didn't leave the hanger until after 11PM. It was great to be able to show the guys this modern technology and to listen to the stroies that were generated.
I did get giged for not landing on the centerline though. I told them I would work on it. Mr. Green

lol
Woulda liked to have been there.
Did RAF Duxford a few years ago and the stories some of the guys came out with there were enthralling.
Met up with HeadHunter Squadron and some of the RAF662 guys along with, of course, some of my favourite EURO's.

By the way, did you tell them we can interview them live via TeamSpeak? Talk about preserving some stories... Wink

That's outstanding, 1Bullet, an impressive amount of effort, way to go!!!

I'm sure your off-centerline landing was probably due to some wayward swine toddling around and causin' a fuss with ground control in his Beech 18 (Ascout!!!) Laughing

LOL

Could have been that or a little nervousness from the company I was in...
