The movie "Tali-Ihantala 1944": Characters
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: The movie "Tali-Ihantala 1944": Characters
Major General Ruben Lagus (on the phone), commander of the Armoured Division:


Captain Y.K.K. Talvitie (commander of Ps.531-8) and 2nd Lieutenant B. Brotell (commander of Ps.531-10). Brotell and his gunner Lance Corporal Olli Soimala scored 11 kills during the defensive battles making them the highest scoring Finnish Stug crew of the war:


Lance Corporal Olof Lagus, gunner of Stug Ps.513-19 and son of Ruben Lagus. Olof destroyed 4 soviet tanks in the first action (lasting 1-2 minutes) of the battle at Kuuterselkä:

Captain Carl-Birger Kvikant stunned half deaf by AT-hit and capless, commander of Stug Ps.531-29 (command vehicle):


Cpt. Kvikants crew trying to free the barrel that has become stuck:


Ignoring the stuck barrel cpt. Kvikant rides into action again, ordering the Stug down a slope too bring the gun to bear:


Luck runs out and the the Stug is struck in the roof killing Cpt. Kvikant, vehicle totally lost at Kutterselkä:
