"I'm All Shook Up"
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I read that he was in a Scout Platoon! Always thought he was a tanker. Should have known. Scouts are better looking and more talented! Laughing

Razz Bleah!!!

Never cared for Elvis and was even more amazed that the 3 AD museum at Drake Barracks had a whole section dedicated to him.

Let an average Private date an under age Officers daughter and see what would happen to him Shocked .

Worst of all he would play a tanker in his goofy movies. IIRC he had a SFC personally watch out for him in the scout platoon so he wouldn't have any problems.

Must have done something right in oh so lengty 2 years of service. I've seen pics of when he was getting out, when he left Germany he was a Spec. 5. By the time he got to the States to out process, he was a SSG. Oh well, at least he served.

Elvis only reached E-5.

When he arrived back in the states, the dress blue uniform was given to him for the publicity. His civilian 'handlers' mistakenly had SSG strips sewn on. He made apoligys for the error, but that was quietly ignored during the 'PR circus' of his return.
