ROK memories (M60A3 for JoeD)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Don,

Besides the Museum statics at 2X, BDE and 1st Tank had M46's out front. But when a person staggers back from "Down Range" you don't pass either heading back to the "Ghetto". Especially when trying to avoid falling in one of those notorious "Turtle/ Binjo Ditches" Wink .

Hi Mark! Hi Folks!

- MarkHolloway

Isn't the M60 mount the same as found on the M114?

The pedestal (the post) for the M151 jeeps and the base units on the M114s both used the M-142 (I think it was 142) gun mount for the M-60 machine gun.

Having been a resident of the 'Maddog' Ghetto, I had confrontations with the big turtle ditch on the way/returning from the '2nd to None' club.

When returning from 'Down Range', I always used the road. less obsticles to fall in.

I had christmas lights in my window for most of the year, so that I could find my way home.

Cool

I don't believe in doing things 'half-assed'.

BTW The conex in the first is my Basic load storage, when down loaded from the tank. I always loved the 55 rounds of the M-1/IPM1. In Korea, I really loved the 10 'Beehive' rounds as part of the tanks basic load. I used to joke about 'trading' other tanks for a few more, even though they were fairly old.

In small arms combat load of 7.62mm & .50cal ammo were crates with the shipping labels from a Saigon (RSVN) ammo depot, always had me a bit nervous.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. In the `70s in Germany, we were firing 81MM ammo made in `44. Wonder why only every third round went off on impact?

You'll be more impressed when you find out that he did it "under fire". Laughing
