Semi-OT: Rotary wingy thingies
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Gents, bear with me, although it involves helicopters one of our CIA members is the reason for this post... Just in case it has slipped below the Radar, a gentleman well known to us has recently published a book and here is a review for said work: Vietnam Scrapbook – an Army Pilot’s Combat Tour It seems I have found another addition to my library. Aw, c'mon, Jens, yer embarassin' me. <grin> I'm tardy responding to your very nice post since I've been out of town, but I'll mention that the difference between the Huey....... ....and the Agusta A-109E....... ....is the difference between a pickup truck and........a Ferarri Testarossa. Bob, Glass cockpits are nice and all (funny how much that resembles a cobra panel at a glance)...but wouldn't you really rather fly one of these? Dream Bird

Well, heck yeah! I know I can never aspire to fly one of the highly-sought after and vaunted LEGO helicopters, and your subject, Doug, is a very close cousin of one.

I'll probably have to resign myself to flying the lowly A-109E in Margaritaville for the rest of my tour.........sigh.
