T23 Medium Tank (W/ Electric Drive)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Don,
Looking down the gift horse's throat, did you take any pics of the rear hull?

Yes, still working on them. I took over 30 photos, trying to edit them and then will post.

Yeah, unfortunately, they dont seem to line up to the SN or RN - unless the SN is actually 40... Based on the T22s at APG, I suspect the SNs are on the tow lugs... Of course it still has the dataplate inside...

DATA PLATE.....

I totally forgot that. Guess I need to make another visit. Not sure if its there, but I'll check it out, when I get a chance.

Those stamped numbers got to be production info (of some sort) But they definitely don't match up to SN or RN numbers.

White paint on rear is semi-gloss and thick, so anything stamped is covered. BTW: note exhaust, it runs but needs adjustment to get the electric drive operational.

I've always thought that it's the best looking American armor in it's time.

So Don,
Is that supposed to be 4th Armored Division badges painted on? Why???

Or is that an old paint job soon to be removed? Wink

All I know is, it came like that. Why? No clue.

It was reconditioned by 594th Maintenance Detachment wasn't it? I guess they had some funny ideas about markings.
