Looking for Information on the M-5 High Speed Tractor
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Can anyone help me find information (specs, etc) of the M-5 HST? I am trying to build a 1/6 scale model of one from scratch. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is a shot I took of one several years ago (2004, I believe).

It ran around a little bit, during a 'Life of the Soldier' show at the Patton Museum.

It's a privately owned vehicle, not part of the Museums collection.

That belongs to Tim Garrett's 14th Armored group. He may have what you need. Their web site is www.14tharmoredre-creations.com/

Here are some in progress pictures of the two M-5 High Speed Tractor's that my friend Art (Sparky22856) and I are building. These are built to 1/6th scale. The only parts from the 21st Century Static M-5 Stuart tank, are the tracks, drive sprockets, bogeys, road wheels, return rollers, idler wheels and tail light lenses. All else is scratchbuilt.

Now those are very nice! It would be great if later when they are finished to provide a link to their build in progress.

Thanks for sharing!

I suspect there may be some material in my "High Speed Tractor" book that would help you.

Info on the book can be found here:

Best wishes,
David Doyle
