Yo, Wingman! Don't get me wrong, 'cuz I loved the song and Gunney Highway, but the way those Marines (Marine Recon, no less) were portrayed was as the most inept, undiciplined, and insubordinate clowns and bordered on the criminal. Marines fresh out of the recruit depot have more class and tactical sense than the way the idiots in this film were portrayed. I cringe just thinking about it. I'm guessing most Marines do, too. That Major would likely end up getting fragged, but by his own NCO's, not those jerks in the lower ranks.

OTOH, every scene with Eastwood (and none of his charges) is terrific!

Hey it's just a movie.... Like Black Sheep Squadron...they were not oustcast at all like the show portrayed. It's all "Hollywood" IMPROVISE, ADAPT AND OVERCOME _________________ You've never been lost until you've been lost at Mach 3
