The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Can never hear enough of the sound that beast makes, Very nice, I liked the fire mission they did. Is the cannon functional (Service rounds) or is the recoil mechanism fixed and you can only fire partial charge salute rounds? Joe D

The recoil mechanism is fixed, we had to weld it because it would be a violation of the CFE treaty if we left it fully operational. It was from the begining the aim to get it firing again so we had to choose this option.

The fire mission we did was a bit of an improvisation, we have to work out a scenario to get it right. There waren't many people around who did actualy work with this piece.
