Todays Photo 'shoot'
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Got another convert to the group Smile ,

Between you and Trevor that makes three of us taking these type of pictures. With your access to Fort Knox, some of the rarities will now be better documented.

The revolution is slowly catching on. Viva the revolution !

I'm still 'in training' to get the best shots but the elevated perspective is pretty neat. Perhaps labeled the "JOE DEE' view" ( Laughing ha ha ha....get it....?)

Hey Don,

Maybe once you get it down you can take class pictures of the trainee's at Knox. Would be much better than those level shots you see all the time. They could even stand in a unique formation to signify their unit or class, much like those aerial/ balloon shots they used to take in the 30's.

Sounds like a business opportunity for ya !

No thanks, This is just for hobby activities. Why spoil a good thing. That can be for someone else.

Amen to that,

These might have sold like hotcakes back in the days before the internet and co-ed dormitories.

Here is my version.

Perhaps not the most advanced version, but it is quite functional. Cost of construction....."ZERO". Wink

Cost Zero....

That's the key and why mine isn't as refined as it could be. A good machine shop could probably make a very durable and professional version, but why spend the money.

These might have sold like hotcakes back in the days before the internet and co-ed dormitories.

Wishing you had one when you attended places of higher learning Wink

I can see Ascout running across a campus trying not to drop his camera pole with a bunch angry Co-Eds chasing him Laughing

This photo was taken a little bit later, of the aforementioned witness.

Lucky guy, Dontos!

Actually, the 223 was being towed out of the work bay.

I was asked to climb inside to steer, so I did. Luckily the drivers viewing port opened so that I was able to see the towing vehicle. Tried to use the brakes, but they didn't work.

Steering was easy due to the wheels weird angle. It allowed me to apply less force to steer. Even without a drivers seat, it was fairly easy to manipulate.

Now you know 'the rest of the story'.

Regards
Don
