The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Looks as though it just rolled off the assembly line. Beautiful tank!

Great restoration! Thanks for the photos. I do have one question...why is this M3 called a hybrid?

Looks great!

Tanklord, the hybrid was basically a late production M3 given an M3A1 turret.

Thank you Sir!. While I was at Armor Officer Basic Course at Ft. Knox, I tried climbing in a Stuart. At 6', 220 lbs, it was dang near impossible!

Trevor- I just noticed "Doctor" Trevor Larkum. Is that old news or is congratulations in order?

Mark - that depends on how long you've known me! I started it in 1992, but didn't get very far with it for a few years - probably because of spending too much time on the original books (Preserved Tanks in France, Preserved German Tanks, Tanks in Russia). Eventually I knuckled down and submitted it in 2004, and was finally awarded it in 2006. Only 14 years altogether!
