I thought that all this information might be of interest to someone.

This is 'our' early model T54. There are a bunch of stamped info located on 3 places of the front slope.

If I can read it correct it is 5309G017 in latin script. Where is this tank located, I have s/n 5210G005 as located on Fort Knox?

Yes, it is still at Ft Knox, in Richardson Motor Pool.

So 5210G005 is a wrong number or a second one??

I have 5210G005 also and it is also on the vehicle. That is why I posted all the different stampings, to see if there was something unique on this vehicle.

There is only one T54 here.

If that is an early model T-54 where is the MG hole?

Right were it's supposed to be. It's pluged, but it's there. The main thing that confirms it's an early T54 is the so called "Z" weld where the plates meet. The MG hole is not an identifier of T54s, as it was present on early build T55s also.
