Memphis M109 and M7
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Got back a little while ago from Memphis,

Went to the TN ARNG armoury on Holmes road that David Doyle mentioned and took these.

M109A5 unless someone out there can correct me. I'm not much of a "Red Leg"

M109A5

Serial numbers all over this vehicle, all the same, kinda like a match set. Wasn't 100% sure they were correct until I got home and looked at this picture.

SN and RN

I took that picture for the painted on RN. My eyes were too messed up to see the stamped SN above it until I got home. (They were dialated, try driving under those conditions).

This is where it's located

Rear view

Here are where the other SN's were found,

Right rear turret
Top engine decking
Front engine decking

I also got a decent shot of the M7
M7 Priest

Have no idea where to find the SN on this one, if someone can tell me I'll be back that way next week.

Check the Artillery forum on the Field piece I photo'd there.

Edit:
M109A5 location 35.006817, -89977340
M7 Location 35.006825, -89.976315

A M7B2 indeed.

Joe

I've posted a picture of the location of the serialnumber from our M7B2 in the serial number guide. However up until now no one has confirmed the number on that place on a other M7B2, maybe you could be the first?

Michel,

I don't know how I missed your post, Thought I checked it before. I will see about confirming the SN location next week. If it's not covered over too much should not be a problem.

Joe

To be honest, it's not your fault. Checked the Serial number guide this morning to find the link to the pictures broken, fixed it before replying to your question
