The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Ten points to ID the target.

PzKW V - No not the Panther this was a tank that never went into serious production. Several were used in the Invasion of Norway and for propoganda pictures in the early part of the war. It also had another name 'New special tractor' or something like that that I never remember and I don't have any of my referance material here at work

bsmart - You're thinking of Neubaufahrzeug. I'd say you're close - that was my first thought on seeing the photo - but no cigar this time. This was even more rare than PzKpfw V.

Looks like a Rheinmetall Grosstraktor.

Spot on - a Grosstraktor II, I suggest:

www.achtungpanzer.com/...w-v-vi.htm

"After 1935, remaining four prototypes were used for training purposes at Panzer Gunnery School at Putlos. In 1937, one of Krupp and Rheinmetall Grosstraktors ended up as a monument at 5th Panzer Regiment headquarters at Wunsdorf. The remaining two were either scrapped or used for target practice."

Sad to say, none survive now so far as I know.
