Help identifying AFVs in the Brussels's Army Museum
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Help identifying AFVs in the Brussels's Army Museum

I've been in Brussels last month, took plenty of pictures and I am now busy ordering/retouching them. I have not sure about the identity of three vehicles.
1) An armoureed car used by the Belgian Gendarmerie:

2) A staff car:

3) A tank transporter (An Achilles is sitting on top of it). I am sure this one is pretty easy, but I usually focus on Axis AFVs:

Thanks in advance

Massimo,
Welcome

First vehicle looks like a FN Armored car with 90mm AT gun, not exactly sure on the full designation.

Vehicle is a Russian GAZ-69 staff car,

Vehicle three is a US made Diamond-T tank transporter. The back was ballast to assist in traction. UK Army used many during WWII and many were given to NATO nations shortly after when they replaced them with Antars.

Thanks Joe. I really appreciate the help (btw I've been around since one year, mostly lurking)

I am still curious about the FN Armored's car full designation. The gun looks like the 90mm, "low pressure" from Cockerill.

If anybody is looking for any specific vehicle in Brussels, just let me know, I took plenty of pictures and I would be more than glad to share.

Joe D is right, the first one is a FN armoured car and tle last one, a Diamond truck.

Massimo

The full designation of that artmour car is FN 4RM-62F ABC, based on the FN 4RM-62F light truck. The ABC stands for auto-blindée canon, 61 were build for the Belgian Gendarmerie between 1965 and 1968. The canon is a MECAR 90/28.

Seems I haven't got it listed in the register either.

Second car - UAZ-69, not GAZ.
