War Story-Sixty-five years later....
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I wonder what's up with that?


Walt ("Jim") insists that he's never seen those letters and as they are all dated within about 10 days of one another, the speculation is that they were in a packet for delivery and stopped just short of reaching the addressee when the unit moved out precipitously. That element of the 501st Para.Rgt. was being temporarily housed in what had been a girl's school, but it was Sept. '44 and things were happening rather quickly.
