I notice what seems to be an absence of a receiver/transmitter box in the usual location as well as an unfamiliar structure on the right side (of the vehicle's) gun. Is this a transmitter box variant (only one lens, though) or is it where the original "spotter rifle" was mounted? It doesn't look right for the telescope sight mount.

Dunno, have to rely on the Sheridan prototype experts out there. Only info I have is that its supposedly SN 19, although that seems high to me for an XM551 - unless they had a lot of prototypes...
