The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I will admit to needing a pistol lanyard once. The Browning slid out of the issue holster while slithering through some sort of swamp floodplain vegetation. I felt a different tension on the belt and something hitting my shin. Better to be embarrassed than charged for losing a pistol.

Mind you, I did have an administrative deduction off my pay for losing a pair of 10x50 binoculars. Two of us took the blame, and I paid something like $37.50 which was 50% of the book value in 1944 or 45 when they were taken on inventory.
