Hehe , Piedmont usually implies hills and there is nothing resembling a hill in G-vegas as it has become known as. Guess it's a matter of how much geology you had to take . . Charlotte has a very clean campus . You guys also have NAscar. NC is a red state but some of us here have our wits .

You know old Loew's Motor speedway, eh? Well, it was formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway "Home of the World 500" Apart from jumping out of airplanes across Higway 29 from there, I used to leave a little rubber on that track. Wink

TR 5? Very cool! I payed a visit to the Charlotte Motor Speedway...fun stuff . Have you been back to Charlotte lately? It is an ultra busy place. When I was with the state it seemed I always had projects in Cleveland County (around Boiling Springs). I went through the area where tthe 49er campus is on my way. I imagine that area has changed quite a bit as it is busting with strip malls and treeless developments these days.

GT6, actually. A Le Mans coupe-bodied Spitfire with the Triumph Herald 2 liter in-line 6-cyl engine...one of the smoothest ever created. 1900 lbs., I could lift the rear wheels clear of the ground by the bar...at that weight, it would pummel the then-current Porche 911T, stay right with or outrun a 911E unless very well driven, and succumbed only to the almighty 911S without real resistance.

Yes...Charlotte is now what Atlanta was 25 years ago...WAY too big. Havne't been back since '98.
