I think its the T59 - Large vertical front plate & both hatches are at the front with engine behind - one of these vehicles was possibly reworked into the T117 with the commanders hatch behind the engine.

I heard back from the museum. They said it was "M113 serial number 3 and made of steel". I thanked him and said it was possible it was originally T117.

It's clearly not an M113. A "steel" M113 is by definition a T117 (M113 was aluminum). See Hunnicutt's Bradley, page 78 & 80. But SN 3 is helpful!

Hmmm.....

FMC working in conjunction with the Kaiser Aluminium and Chemical Corporation, constructed the T113 with an aluminium hull and a Continental air-cooled engine. These two combined together provided the lightest weight configuration and afforded the vehicle with a superior ballistic capability. At the same time a conventional steel hull vehicle was built, powered by a water-cooled Packard engine. This particular APC was derived from the earlier M59 and was built because it represented a low risk option.

That would be interesting, Jim. Since it was single engine it wouldn't have been on the sides like the M59. Confused
