Germany AFV Registers
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Because of your question about the German halftrack I did some research on the Modellbauforen.de site and they have some nice things

The Technikverein Pütnitz, they have an museum with an lot of former East-German army equipment

www.modellbauforen.de/...=4;t=15937

They also have there own website

If some-one wants to few the collection at that site, pick:

There will appear thumbnail picture's of the vehicle's

Found so far:
T-72 MBT

152mm SPH 2S3M
BTR-60PB

BRDM-2
and there more military stuff there, like Russian trucks

Maybe Putnitz is better known as Ribnitz-Damgarten airbase of the Soviet/Russian air force. Last type operating here were MiG-29s. Interesting times!

Geschutzter Sonderwagen

Hi Massimo,

I think to know what vehicle that maybe
The mortar carrier is most likely an Schutzenpanzer (lang) HS 30 Panzermorser
An self propelled mortar version of the German APC HS 30
Initially fitted with an 81 mm mortar and later with a 120mm mortar
You should know it, it is an Swiss Hispano-Suiza (in short HS) design Mr. Green

The "Geschutzter Sonderwagen" is an vehicle of the German Bundesgrenzschutz (literly State Border protection), original an kind of border police force
The vehicle was used for "hard-core" riot's and for road blocks, this police force in now part of the German federal police force

In 1951 they where created to patrol the German borders and they formed the base for the German army and navy
I don't think you could compare this police force with something else in the world

Besides acting as border patrol and federal police
They are there to protect German national interrest around the globe
Protection of German embassies, the national airline Lufthansa, sea ports, act as military police, emergency services, etc Shocked

They could even operate under the UN, European Union or similar

And this is very special, because for the German army they had to change to nation's laws in 1990, before they could be send abroad for NATO

ps: cann't wait to see some picture's

Michel
